The Greatest Adventure (the title is from Isaac Asimov's eloquent introduction) is problem oriented and focuses on vital research in various scientific disciplines, ranging from molecular biology to physics, that have special pertinence today. The book was not designed to be encyclopedic, but rather tries to provide a road map through only a few areas of contemporary knowledge. It brings to the reader descriptions of past and present research directly related to our earth, life, health, and civilization.
